She even did a Princess Diaries ‘before and after’ style video!
I’ll make this brief: Jennifer Garner chopped off her chest length locks last week and in replacement got a chin-grazing bob *cheers in short hair*. Then, a few days later, she took to the ‘Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles’ red carpet to debut the choppy cut publicly and I think it’s safe to say that our (metaphorically speaking) hair-spo files had reached its peak. Spoiler: it was a lewk.
You keeping up?
Well, now, Jen has only gone and taken to Instagram to share a tutorial on how she maintains the new ‘do. Get your notepad and pen out folks, because you’re going to want to take notes.
Introducing the video in true Jen Garner fashion, she says: “Hello! I have short hair! Which means a new way to do my short hair, so, here’s how I do it”, before explaining the first step.
Immediately she goes straight in with the Virtue 6-in-1 Styler, £32 which, as she says herself, is great for bringing out your natural hair texture; it’s great to use before the heat. Jen takes the product in her hands and then starting from the ends, proceeds to work the product throughout, instructing to “scrunch the bottom 2/3rds of your hair”.

Next up we have the heat. And seeing as Jennifer has a natural wave, she uses a diffuser attachment on her Dyson Supersonic Dryer, £329.99. Spenny, I know but Garner approved, clearly.
The Virtue Healing Oil, £42 is up next, which as Jen says herself, will bring out your curls as well as nourish. This product – as well as the rest of the Virtue collection mentioned – is enriched with Alpha Keratin 60ku, working to reduce split ends and frizz and increase volume, fullness and vibrancy. I mean, what more could you want?
To finish up the look, the star goes in with the Virtue Texturising Spray, £14.40 to add “lift and volume” as well as “smell good”. Relatable, much.
Et voilà, she is red carpet ready!
Now, as clear as it is that she does love these products, Jen is, in fact, an ambassador of the Virtue brand aaand it’s worth noting that the post is also tagged as a paid partnership.
As she departs, Jen leaves us with four simple words: “Short hair, don’t care”. Amen sis, amen.
