Bhogali (Poush) Mela 2024: A Celebration of Crafts, Culture, and Cuisine in Silchar!

The District Mission Management Unit of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Cachar, is all geared up to set the stage for a vibrant and enriching cultural extravaganza with the upcoming Bhogali (Poush) Mela 2024. Scheduled to be held at Silchar Subhash Nagar Field, this three-day event promises to be a celebration of craftsmanship, diverse cultures, and mouth-watering ethnic delicacies. Organized under the aegis of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Govt of Assam, the event is set to commence from the 10th of January and will culminate on the 12th of January, 2024.

An array of captivating stalls boasting over 30 exquisitely crafted products made by Self Help Groups (SHGs) will be on display and available for sale. These handcrafted items showcase the artistic prowess and creativity of local artisans, offering attendees a unique opportunity to acquire authentic, locally made treasures.

Moreover, adding to the culinary delight, there will be stalls brimming with a diverse range of ethnic food products, tempting the taste buds of attendees with traditional flavors and specialties. From delectable snacks to sumptuous meals, the Mela will be a haven for food enthusiasts eager to indulge in the rich and authentic tastes of Assam.

Not just a marketplace, this cultural extravaganza will feature day-wise events highlighting the region’s rich heritage and traditions. Attendees can immerse themselves in captivating cultural performances, including folk dances, music, and theatrical displays, offering a glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of local culture.
