Where to Celebrate Sunday Funday in Houston: Around Clear Lake – 365 Things to Do in Houston

Houston is a great place to unwind. In this series, we’ll hop from neighborhood to neighborhood, diving into the fun and tasty ways to join in on the time-honored tradition of Sunday Funday, from brunch to live music and more.

Around Clear Lake and just off Galveston and Trinity Bays lies a charming escape from the city, with surrounding neighborhoods including Clear Lake, Kemah, League City, Nassau Bay, Webster, and Seabrook. if(typeof ez_ad_units != ‘undefined’){ez_ad_units.push([[580,400],’365thingsinhouston_com-medrectangle-4′,’ezslot_5′,180,’0′,’0′])};if(typeof __ez_fad_position != ‘undefined’){__ez_fad_position(‘div-gpt-ad-365thingsinhouston_com-medrectangle-4-0’)};
One of the Clear Lake area’s coolest experiences is in Seabrook, floating bar and grill Barge295. Hit the first or second floor patio to enjoy prime views of the water, cold drinks, and tasty eats. The barge is open from 11am to 2am on Sundays, rocking char-grilled and raw oysters, overloaded nachos, burgers, and quesadillas, a full bar, and live music.
Clear Lake dining and drinking options include Cabo Bar & Grill, which offers two-level waterfront dining, live music and DJs, and tasty food and drink starting at noon.
Over in Kemah, T-Bone Tom’s rocks surf and turf, voodoo and hurricane cocktails, plus live music and an easy-going vibe in Tom’s Backyard; Skallywag Suds N’ Grub is a damn good time, with happy hour specials running all day and night alongside burgers, wines, tacos, and whiskey.
Chelsea Wine Bar sits just off the lake in El Lago, offering Old World charm, a library of wines, and eats from charcuterie to flatbread pizzas, with hours from 3pm to midnight.
Nearby in Webster, you can pair craft beers with Vietnamese pub grub–think Banh Mi Dogs and Shaking Beef—at Nobi Public House.
Channeling the boardwalks of the East Coast, Kemah Boardwalk sports amusement park rides, seaside eats, live tunes, charming shops, and funky festivals. Get your thrills on the 140-foot Drop Zone or Boardwalk Bullet (ride tickets can be purchased individually, or get an all-day adult pass for $25.99).
Fun food and drink options include Greek spot Bakkhus Tavern, Cajun haunt Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack, and Molly’s Pub. You can also dig into seafood at the Flying Dutchman Restaurant & Oyster Bar, waterfront Landry’s Seafood, or the peel-and-eat shrimp slinging Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Those looking for a party boat or romantic cruise can set sail on the Boardwalk FantaSea cruises.
Beer geeks will want to check out Webster’s Saloon Door Brewing, with the tasting room open from noon to 11pm on Sundays. Look out for beers like the well-balanced Panhandler Pale Ale and Tasty AF Peanut Butter & Chocolate Milk Stout, which you can enjoy from the patio on nicer days.
You can sip and swing your Sunday away at high-tech golf experience TopGolf in Webster. The entertainment hub has climate-controlled bays for your game, plus craft cocktails and punches, beers, and wines alongside tasty bites like buffalo chicken dip and harvest hummus, smokehouse burgers, “injectable” donut holes, brunch burritos and chicken & biscuits. Reservations aren’t required, though you may end up waiting longer during peak times. Bays are open Sundays from 10am to 11pm.
