Local distillery in the running for Best Craft Gin finalist

Los Poblanos Botanical Spirits up against well-known premium brands

A local distillery only started making gin late last year, and now it’s got a shot at being one of 10 finalists for the USA Today People’s Choice Award for Best Craft Gin.Los Poblanos Botanical Spirits — part of the sprawling agriculture, accommodations, restaurant and gift shops enclave off Rio Grande Boulevard — is one of 20 distilleries in the running for the top 10 in their category.”We couldn’t believe it. It was so crazy to be up with some of the best craft gin distilleries in the country — Bar Hill, St, George,” said Dylan Storement, the Los Poblanos director of wine and spirits. “We couldn’t believe we were in the running with those, especially since we just started out as a gin brand. It’s only been since October.” The public is invited to vote through May 15, and the winners will be announced May 26.
