Merry Christmas Eve West Michigan! A Dense Fog Advisory remains in place for the entire region until 11 am. Use extra caution if traveling this morning. Otherwise, mainly cloudy skies are expected today as temperatures soar into the middle 50s. That’s about twenty degrees warmer than what is typical for this time of year.

Christmas morning looks mainly dry, with rain arriving in the afternoon and evening. A high temperature in the middle 50s is expected, which would make it one of the warmest Christmas days on record. To be specific, if the high reaches 56 degrees — which is the projection — it will be the third warmest temperature ever recorded in Kalamazoo on Christmas Day. The warmest is an incredible 65 degrees that was set in 1982.

Temperatures will start to drop midweek, and by the end of the week we will be seasonably chilly in the mid 30s. Depending on the track of an area of low pressure, we could see some light rain and snow showers by the end of the week.

Meteorologist Will Haenni has your latest forecast tonight at 6:30 pm!
