Hayden Panettiere on Her Daughter Pursuing Acting

Hayden Panettiere isn’t racing to introduce her daughter to Hollywood.

In fact, while her daughter Kaya—whom Hayden shares with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko—has expressed interest in following in her mom’s footsteps, the Scream star is proceeding with caution. 

“I started getting calls from my 11-year-old about being interested in the industry,” Hayden said in an exclusive interview with E! News, admitting the prospect is a bit of a “nail-biter.”

After all, the Heroes alum’s own career onscreen began she was 12 months old, so she knows firsthand the highs and lows that can come with a life in the spotlight.

“I always want to support whatever she wants to do,” Hayden continued of Kaya, “but I am trying to guide her towards, you know, let’s not rush into anything. Why don’t you try a few things out and have a college experience.”

The 36-year-old—who details her personal and professional life in memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning—added, “She still has the ability to fly under the radar, and once you give that up, you don’t get that back. Once you’re out there, and you’re famous and known, there’s no getting your privacy back.”
