A 2018 culpable homicide case that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) provisionally withdrew has come back to haunt Nono Maloyi, who is vying for the position of ANC provincial chairperson in North West.
News24 understands that Maloyi, a former MEC for Human Settlements, was recently contacted by the NPA in the province to inform him that “new evidence in the form of a witness” had now come to light.
Given that the serious charge may be reinstated, Bojanala, the ANC’s biggest region in North West, wrote to the interim provincial committee requesting that Maloyi not be allowed to stand for election.
