In another setback of the Opposition’s INDIA Bloc, National Conference (NC) has decided to go solo in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. NC chief Farooq Abdullah said that his party would contest on all five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
NC sources told Times Now that the demands of the Congress were unrealistic. Addressing a press conference, Farooq Abdullah said that National conference will contest all alone while hoping that general and assembly elections will be held together.
The insiders claimed that Congress wanted to hold talks on Kashmir based Lok Sabha seats. The Congress had claimed that they good base in Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency.

Congress had also claimed that it has strong presence in Rajouri and Poonch which have been added to Anantnag parliamentary constituency.
Tariq Ahmad Kara, Congress CWC member had defeated Farooq Abdullah in 2014 elections. Tariq Kara contested 2014 elections on the People’s Democraic Party (PDP) ticket but later resigned.
Congress believed that after delimitation, more south Kashmir areas were added to Srinagar parliamentary seat and there vote share has increased.
Congress sources told Times Now that contesting two Jammu seats is obligation for them and alliance partners (PDP and NC) will no way help them.
